MICROSOFT COURIER

Microsoft Courier was the code-name for a pre-iPad era portable booklet PC prototype. The devise contained dual OLED touchscreens that faced each other in booklet format, and used a stylus and multi-touch inputs. The essence of Courier was “free create”. This was described by Microsoft as “a natural way to digitally write, sketch and gather inspiration by blending the familiarity of the pen, the intuition of touch, the simplicity of the book and the advantages of software and services.”

Even though Microsoft cancelled the Courier project, it was classified as an "incubation" project and eventually led to the newly announced Microsoft Surface Neo to be released in 2020.

Responsibilities included creation of the consumer journey and narrative, brand film, photoshoots, internal presentation graphics and sales tools, brand logos and iconography, calendar UI/UX, and product packaging.

Client: Microsoft Courier (Andrew Allen, Jon Harris, Georg Petschnigg)
